We were incredibly proud to sponsor the Uniformed Hero of the Year category at this year’s Local Hero Awards, celebrating the remarkable individuals across our community who go above and beyond, day after day.

Huge congratulations to Crew Manager Glyn Vaughan of Crymych Fire Station, this year’s winner, recognised for nearly 30 years of dedicated service to his community. His commitment, professionalism, and selfless dedication make him a truly deserving recipient of this award.

The awards evening, held at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven and hosted by television presenter Anna Ryder Richardson, brought together community champions, their families, and local organisations from across West Wales for a night dedicated to recognising quiet acts of courage, kindness, and resilience.

Alongside Glyn’s win in our category, the evening also celebrated finalists and winners across a range of categories, including Teacher of the Year, Environmental Hero of the Year, Future Star Hero of the Year, and Child of Courage – each with their own remarkable story of service to the community.

At D Wynne Evans & Sons, supporting the communities we serve is something we care about deeply, and it was a genuine privilege to take part in an event that celebrates people like Glyn and so many others across West Wales.
